YouTube Offline and Other Tricks you Need to Know

Who doesn’t use YouTube to get through the day? You could be watching funny videos or listening to your favorite songs. Or, you could create videos and upload them to share your knowledge with the world. You name everything from trailers and movie parodies to how-to videos and music videos, and everything is found on this platform. The best part is the platform is extremely user-friendly and smooth.

Even though you might think you already know everything about using YouTube, there still might be some things hidden from sight. So let’s take a look at some of the tricks you might be unaware of.

Download Audio from YouTube Videos and Listen to it Offline

You might not be in the mood to always watch videos. You may want to only listen to the audio track without using the Internet. If so, you can download audio from YouTube videos and convert YouTube to MP3 for offline listening. You can use the Pulltube application to download YouTube videos and extract audio files. Then, you can use the app to convert it to MP3 so you can listen to it whenever you want, as the file is saved on your device.

Watch YouTube Behave Inebriated

Go to the search bar and enter Use the force Luke and hit enter. You will notice the platform acting drunk. This can be a good party trick if you wish to impress your friends with your knowledge.

Create a GIF from a Video

If you want to create GIFs, you can easily create them from a YouTube video. First, you have to enter GIF before YouTube in the URL of the video you are watching, which will change the format. You will be redirected to www.gifs.com. Here, you can choose the start and the end times of the video clip from your selected video that you wish to turn into a GIF. Then, you need to click the green check mark on the left-hand side of your screen and watch the GIF play. Then, you can choose different editing options, such as flipping, cropping, and adding stickers.

You have to click on Create GIF and select who can see it. You can also add tags and a title. Then, click Next, and if you wish to share it on social media, you have to copy the GIF’s link. The GIF can also be downloaded and saved on your system.

Playback at a Video Starting at a Certain Time

Suppose you are watching a 30-minute long video and discover an interesting or funny part. So, you send the video to your friends and ask them to fast forward to 15 minutes and 10 seconds. But do you know if you can send them the link from that specific point?

When you want to send your friends anything funny or interesting, you need to add &t=15m10s to the end of the video URL (you can change the numbers to the time stamp you wish to share). Then, your friends don’t have to fast forward, but they can start watching from a specific spot.

Alternatively, you can pause the video you are watching and click Share > click Start at and copy the link. Then, send it to your family or friends.

Turn on Captions

If you are at work, in a library, or a car and don’t have headphones, you can switch on the captions in a video. First, you have to click the CC icon. You can also turn on captions when the speaker is talking in a different language, and you are not familiar with it. Then, you can use the in-built Google Translate. Click on the settings icon and choose Subtitles > click Auto-translate and select your preferred language.

Use the Picture-In-Picture Mode to Watch Videos While Using Another Application

You might want to send a message to your friend while playing a YouTube video. That’s where you can use the picture-in-picture mode. Thanks to this mode, you can shrink the video you are watching into a small square and move it around your screen. However, this feature is available for YouTube Premium members.

You can turn on this feature by going to the Settings option on your Android device > click Apps & notifications > click Advanced > click Special access > click Picture-in-picture > choose YouTube and toggle the switch to activate the feature.

Download The Video Thumbnail

If you need the video thumbnail for a social media post or newsletter, you can copy the video ID, which would be youtube.com/watch?v=. Then, paste the ID at img.youtube.com/vi/[VideoID]/maxresdefault.jpg. After that, copy and paste the entire link into your browser and save the image.
